About Kalashtar

Kalashtar

The Kalashtar are created through a union of dream spirits (called quori) and humans, and are depicted as a compassionate and wise race. However, there’s something very unique about the Kalashtar - they are haunted by the conjoined souls of both races.

Kalashtar are humanoid creatures that age and mature the same way as humans do. Most are tall and slim, with the same skin color, hair and eye ranges as humans. They are wise and charismatic, and are usually aligned toward good and lawful behavior. They’re usually compassionate and self-disciplined, but not all of them follow their spirit’s virtuous influence.

Naturally strong of mind, the Kalashtar D&D character have resistance to psychic attacks and can form a mind link to creatures they can see. Both Kalashtar and creature won’t need to share a common language; however, the creature must be able to know at least one language or have telepathic abilities so it can understand the telepathic messages.

Kalashtar have made their homes in Sarlona and Khorvaire, and usually stay in Adar’s temple keeps. A few venture out because they’re driven by a singular purpose. There are those who try to break free from the Riedrans’ grasp, or escape the Dreaming Dark.

Because of the strange union and memories of their quori souls and humanity, Kalashtar d&d are constantly locked in an endless struggle to retain their sanity. When the struggle is lost these creatures display dangerous and confusing behavior. All Kalashtar view the Dreaming Dark as the single most important quest as it’s seen as the ultimate evil.

Kalashtar follow the Path of Light and Il-Yannah, otherwise known as the Great Light or universal force of good. They get along with everyone, regardless of race and can express their friendship through off-hand comments or an occasional wry smile.
