About Vedalken

Vedalken

The Vedalken is a race of blue creatures that treat intelligence as their primary weapon. These hyper-intellectuals are natural Artificers and Mages due to their deep-rooted passion for learning. They have an unemotional attitude toward life.

An edge on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws is given to all Vedalken. D&D characters of this race will consequently have more dominance when it comes to magic duels. With them, Intelligence score can rise by two points, while Wisdom score can rise by one.

These knowledge seekers are also known to be partially amphibious. This is a cool skill that allows you to dive into the water in search of loot. However, it's only limited and not enough to make it through a full-fledged water campaign.

Arcana, History, Investigation, Medicine, Performance, or Sleight of Hand are among the expertise of these creatures. Using them will also let you be efficient in one tool of your choosing.

The Vedalken are one of the races that inhabit Alara's broken plane. After the Shards of Alara realigned, several of their people from Esper relocated to Naya.

Vedalken have a humanoid body shape. They are taller compared to humans, although they have a slimmer build. They are approximately 6 to 6 1/2 feet tall and weigh just under 200 pounds on average. They have no hair nor external ears. They have wide, flat noses. Their skin comes in shades of blue, and their eyes share the same color, only darker. Some of them have purple eyes.

Like their skin, their view of life might seem very blue. However, their primary philosophy is to accept and rejoice that nothing is perfect. They believe that every flaw is an opportunity for growth, which is actually something very positive when you think about it.

Therefore, a game could be going on for months or even years, leaving the players with an option to meet up whenever they like and take up the adventure where they left off. Even though the group might fall in the battles with invincible creatures, there can be no losers in the game. All players are considered winners, as long as everyone had fun creating unforgettable storylines and enduring experiences.

Considering that Dungeons & Dragons is a role-playing game, each player lies with a task to truly embody the character they are playing. The character that each player chooses, forms the essence of the game for them. To start off the character creation, it is wise for a player to acknowledge which kind of adventurer they want to portray. Considering this, a player should choose themselves a race, for example, a dwarf or a gnome, which is followed by a class, like a fighter or a barbarian. Each race has its own strengths and weaknesses, as well as racial traits.

Every player has the chance to demonstrate their imagination by choosing the name for their character.
