About Platinum Dragon

Platinum Dragon

Dungeons and Dragons is loaded with huge, magical and immensely powerful dragons that take the fantasy element of the game to next levels. The Platinum dragon D&D is one of the most special ones among them all.

Platinum dragons are the rarest of all metallic dragons wherein Bahamut is believed to be the actual platinum dragon. However, his parents Tamara and Lendys are also termed as platinum dragons by some. The species represented the archetype of metallic dragons who were good-aligned.

The platinum dragon is capable of breathing air and water, while having advantage on saving throws against all magical effects and spells. Unless the dragon wants to be affected, the creature is totally immune to spells upto 6th level as well as spells cast by good-aligned species. Bahamut also talks with his opponents and uses some diplomatic skills to convince them to surrender. His two breath weapons include a cone of cold and a vapor that turns the opponent into gas. He can even turn everyone within 100 feet into dust with his roar that can also deafen those who weren't disintegrated.

The platinum dragon lived in a fortified castle somewhere behind the east wind, while others scholars say he lived on the Elemental Plane of Air. However, the actual "Bahamut's Palace" is located on the plane of Celestia according to the legend.

As the name suggests, the dragon is marked by platinum scales and is quite massive in size. Their eyes and bodies ooze amazingly bright auras of light that can make others fail in determining the color of the dragon scales. The dragon is usually 180 feet in length with an equally long tail. However, the dragon takes up a human form or a demihuman wizard's shape who is dressed in peasant robes whenever he enters the mortal world.

Bahamut is quite famous among non-dragon scholars, and is believed to be quite a unique creature among his kind as he sports wings and possess innate magic. The platinum dragon has got lovely blue eyes, but his eyes don't have an exact color as the hues keep changing with Bahamut's mood and situations.
