About Orc

Orc

Orcs are one of the earliest but controversial playable characters in Dungeons & Dragons. Their barbaric and chaotic evil nature makes them stand out and make it challenging for players to take on. However, the lore of orcs has made players interested and thrilled to take on their role.

Orcs are violent humanoid creatures. Their appearance varies on their sub-race and region, but all share particular physical qualities that make it easy to point out their race. Orcs usually stand over 6 feet tall and weigh between 230 and 280 pounds. They have a mix of green to greyish skin, muscular bodies, snouty noses, well-developed canines that resemble tusks, and have bent forward postures.

Orcs are known for their short temper and savage personalities. They don’t get along with the other races due to their natural lust for bloodshed. They are dishonest, impatient, and will eliminate anyone that tries to get in their way.

Orcs are a race of barbaric humanoid creatures. As a result of crossbreeding with other species, there are now a number of sub-races of orcs.

Some of the most well-known orc crossbreeds are Elf-Orc, Goblin-Orc and Dwarf-Orc. Elf-Orc - They stand taller than the average human, around 6 to 7 feet tall, with green skin and muscular bodies due to their orc blood. They have pointed ears and maintain the natural beauty due to their elvish blood. Goblin-Orc - The mix of their orcish natural strength and the sneaky nature of goblins, makes them great warriors. The are often created for this particular reason. Dwarf-Orc - They are built just as strong as their orc parent and are as brave as their dwarf parent. They have an average to large size, standing between 5 to 6 feet tall just like average humans. They can grow small tusks and have grey, green or tan skin.

Orcs live in remote areas away from other races. Mountain orcs can be found in the mountain ranges in the northern areas of Faerûn, while grey orcs can usually be found in the eastern parts. However, their race originally came from Shadowfell, which as a result has given them a small amount of magic in their blood.

Here are some fun facts about orcs. They have short life spans, which is why 11-year-old orcs are already considered as an adult. Any orcs that live past 45 years of age usually have gotten help from magic. In the first edition of the game, orcs were created as monsters, not people, by their evil deity Gruumsh making them bloodthirsty soldiers to fight against other gods. This is the reason behind their chaotic evil nature. Orcs were first brought into the modern fantasy world by J.R.R Tolkien and now has made a huge impact in many fantasy contents.
